Where we go from here.
The recent Cowichan Tribes v. Canada case, which establishes aboriginal title over fee simple title in Richmond, is kicking off a constitutional crisis in Canada. Homeowners suddenly woke up to find out there are competing title interests on their own homes.
Tribes claim aboriginal title over vast B.C. Interior area, including all of the City of Kamloops and Sun Peaks Resort. And aboriginal title claims blanket nearly the entire province.
Decades of failed governments have funded a powerful reconciliation industry, which has steadily eroded the foundational pillars of our province.
Today, OneBC stands as the only party in British Columbia willing to confront the reality that our Constitution must be amended to address the Gordian Knot of aboriginal title claims.
We also invite you to view our priorities page, which offers a detailed rundown of our positions on important topics, including taxation, aboriginal title, the Indian Act, energy, healthcare, housing, and education.
One Law. One people. OneBC.
