Travis Marchenski

Candidate — Surrey-Cloverdale

Travis Marchenski is a skilled tradesperson, small business owner, and OneBC candidate who lives in Surrey, British Columbia, with his wife and young child. Built on a foundation of blue-collar work ethic and entrepreneurial grit, Travis focuses his career and personal experiences on representing the interests of working-class families and small business owners across the province.

Born and raised in British Columbia, Travis learned the value of manual labor and perseverance early in life. Deciding to enter the workforce directly after high school, he skipped the traditional academic route to pursue a career in the skilled trades—a decision that would shape his practical approach to problem-solving and community development.

Travis spent over a decade working on active construction sites, mastering various facets of the building trade. He moved up from an entry-level laborer to a skilled construction worker, experiencing firsthand the physical demands, safety challenges, and economic pressures facing the modern working class.

Driven by an entrepreneurial spirit, Travis eventually transitioned from employee to employer by founding his own small construction business. Operating a local company gave him deep insight into the challenges of navigating bureaucratic regulations, managing payroll, and surviving fluctuating market conditions. Under his leadership, his business became known for its reliability and commitment to providing fair wages to local workers.
