A Healthcare Educator and Neighbour Fighting for Your Everyday Needs
For over 20 years, my life’s work has been about listening, caring, and helping people thrive. As a long-time resident, a registered physiotherapist, and a Clinical Instructor in the Faculty of Medicine at UBC, I’ve dedicated my career to public service, health advocacy, and education. My journey has always been guided by a profound desire to give back to the community that has given my family so much. Now, I am stepping forward to bring those exact values of gratitude and service to Victoria as your Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) in the upcoming provincial election on Saturday, October 24, 2026.
As a university educator, I have the privilege of teaching and mentoring students in the Master of Physical Therapy program at UBC. It’s a role that demands deep institutional knowledge, trust, and a commitment to strong family values—the very principles of hard work, mutual respect, and community care that my family and I hold dear. Beyond the classroom and clinic, my commitment to giving back to society is woven into my daily life. Whether I am supporting my son’s local soccer team, spearheading vital community projects, or collaborating within our diverse local social and community networks, I believe that building a stronger province starts with being actively engaged right here at home.
In my clinical practice and community work, I sit down with ordinary people every single day. Because I am on the ground, I understand the complex, interconnected systems driving the real pressures facing our local families. True public service requires both a compassionate heart and a knowledgeable, evidence-based approach to governance. For an everyday family, it isn’t about big political debates—it’s about practical solutions to counter the rising cost of groceries under historic inflation, policy reforms to address the skyrocketing cost of housing, and strategic investments to alleviate the stress of gridlock because our regional infrastructure and transit connectivity haven’t kept pace with our community’s rapid growth.
My journey has allowed me to care for patients at every level, from local moms, dads, and grandparents to elite athletes on the world stage as a National Team Physiotherapist. Speaking English, Hindi, Gujarati, and Punjabi allows me to connect with the beautiful, vibrant fabric of our community, ensuring every family and local entrepreneur has a voice.
I am running for MLA because I want to ensure that our community remains a safe, affordable, and vibrant place to raise a family and grow a business. I will bring the heart of a caregiver, the analytical knowledge of a clinician, and the accountability of an educator to the legislature to look out for you. Let’s work together to build a healthier, stronger, and more equitable future for our families. This October 24, I ask for your support to build a better British Columbia.
