Shane Friesen
Candidate — Juan de Fuca-Malahat
Shane Friesen is the OneBC candidate for Juan de Fuca-Malahat. Raised in a working-class logging family, he is a long-time resident of Cobble Hill and a father of three. As a skilled trades professional, he brings extensive experience in custom home site supervision, NDT/RT Level 2 industrial inspection, and HVAC and gas fitting. His professional background includes managing complex budgets, leading teams under tight timelines, and delivering practical results.
A calm, articulate, and organized communicator, Shane values connecting with voters across party lines, discussing complex political issues clearly, and representing his community with composure and conviction. He is committed to solution-based conversations and principled leadership grounded in integrity.
Shane has served on the Federal Board of Directors for Cowichan–Malahat–Langford and Juan de Fuca-Malahat. He has also advocated for public access as a member of the Board of Directors for the BC Recreational Fishing Association and coached local youth while serving as Referee-in-Chief for the Kerry Park Minor Hockey Association.
He fully supports OneBC’s core mission to lower taxes, defend families, reform democracy, preserve the environment, and deliver world-class healthcare, education, and public infrastructure to every corner of British Columbia.
