Born in Vancouver, Susan is an experienced communications professional, educator and broadcast media specialist with more than a decade of teaching experience at the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT), complemented by twenty-five years working as a news anchor and reporter. She is knowledgeable about the political history of BC. Susan has served on the local board of the Federal Conservative Party and assisted with political communications in several campaigns.
Susan worked for CKNW/CFMI and News 1130, as a talk show host for CJME Regina, as a TV producer and as a CBC National Arts Reporter. She is experienced in public speaking, political grassroots organization, fundraising and community engagement.
Known for her no-nonsense, straightforward, friendly personality, Susan’s goal is to listen to the voters and act on their behalf to bring back common sense to political decision-making. Susan owns My Town Maple Ridge News Society, a local news organization sharing local stories on Facebook and YouTube. She is a writer, singer, painter and grandmother.
