Carolyn Hofbauer grew up in Surrey’s Newton neighbourhood and attended Frank Hurt Secondary School. Surrey is where she went to school, built her career, and is raising her family.
Carolyn began working at 15 while continuing her education. After high school, she attended what is now Kwantlen Polytechnic University, where she studied music, English, and history. During her college years, she also worked as a substitute teacher.
Much of Carolyn’s early career was spent in the restaurant industry. She worked as a chef at Fresgo Inn before becoming head chef at The Vault Restaurant in Cloverdale, where she spent nearly a decade. The work demanded responsibility, teamwork, and the ability to listen to people.
Carolyn later joined her family business. Today, she manages BC Firearms Academy alongside her husband. Running a small business has given her firsthand experience with the challenges facing employers, employees, and families in British Columbia.
Carolyn and her husband are raising their son, Blake. Family is at the centre of her life and shapes how she thinks about the future of her community.
Carolyn’s involvement in politics began during college. Since then, she has volunteered on campaigns, knocked on doors, made calls, worked in campaign offices, and spoken with voters about the issues that matter to them.
Carolyn is running for OneBC to bring her experience as a mother, small business owner, and lifelong Surrey resident to provincial politics. She wants to represent the community she has always called home.
