Alexandra is a first-generation Canadian who was raised with a deep appreciation for the freedoms and opportunities that Canada provides, but also with the understanding that democracy can never be taken for granted. Good government depends on elected representatives who are accountable to the people they serve, and more importantly, upon the citizens who hold those representatives accountable.
Alexandra earned her BA in Anthropology from the University of Calgary before briefly moving to California, where she obtained her Juris Doctor degree from UCLA School of Law. After practising law for several years, Alexandra returned home to Canada and built a career as a legal advisor in the energy sector. In 2013, Alexandra and her husband, John, incorporated a full-service supply chain consulting firm. Over the years, they have grown their business while raising their daughter and running their family farm in Ellison, gaining firsthand experience of the challenges faced by farmers, parents and small business owners in our province.
Alexandra believes strongly in standing up for her community and in leading by example, and over the past years she has led rallies and campaigns within her region to oppose unlawful dumping, protect waterways and take a stand against irresponsible development that threatens to harm the future of the Okanagan Valley. Her favourite part of living in Ellison is listening to the owls hooting at night.
Alexandra believes British Columbians deserve leaders who approach public service with humility, make decisions openly and transparently, and never lose sight of the fact that a government only exists to serve its citizens. If elected, Alexandra will bring to the legislature the same approach that has guided her throughout her career: read the fine print, think critically, ask difficult questions, and never be afraid to challenge the status quo. Most importantly, she intends to remain true to the principles that brought her there in the first place.
